چکیده

The present study was conducted to investigate the reproductive biology of Neotropius atherinoides in Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute, Floodplain Sub-station, Santahar, Bogura, Bangladesh. A total number 70 fish samples were collected on monthly basis from Atrai River and Jamuna during period September 2021 August 2022. highest mean value gonado-somatic index (GSI) recorded July (12.55±2.50), whereas lowest found January (0.46±0.11). Highest individual fecundity (7000±1900) ova diameter (0.50±0.07 mm) also observed July. From histological observation ovary, early peri-nucleolar stage, late yolk vesicle granule stages identified where percentage (80%) mature oocytes Based GSI, fecundity, gonadal histology, breeding season N. May a remarkable peak In case length weight relationship (LWR), coefficient determination (r2) 0.95 slope b=1.02 which indicated pattern negative allometric growth this species as b<3. contrast, an increase associated with rise length, body weight, gonad showed significant linear relationship. This would assist development induced techniques provide valuable information for sustainable management population inland open ecosystem.

Some aspects of the reproductive biology of the Indian squid, Uroteuthis duvauceli, were studied from June 2006 to May 2007. A total of 1200 specimens were collected from approximately 30-80m depths by trawling in 50 stations, of which 360 samples were studied for sex determination and fecundity. The minimum and maximum total and mantle length, and body weight were recorded in December and June...

Hypothalamo-pituitary-gonadal axis in control of female reproductive cycle.

Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) secretion from the hypothalamus is pivotal to the regulation of reproductive physiology in vertebrates. The characteristic periodic secretion of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) from the medial basal hypothalamus (MBH), at the rate of one pulse an hour is essential for the maintenance of the menstrual cycle. These pulses are due to oscillations in the ...

Preliminary evaluation of some aspects of the ecology (growth pattern, condition factor and reproductive biology) of African pike, Hepsetus odoe (Bloch 1794), in Lake Eleiyele, Ibadan, Nigeria

A preliminary investigation of length-weight relationship, condition factor and reproductive ecology of African pike fish, Hepsetus odoe, was conducted between June to August 2010 in Lake Eleiyele. A total of 90 samples of the fish species were caught by fishermen using gill nets. The results obtained showed that fish species had isometric growth pattern (contrary to negative allometry expected...
